Actor Kevin Bacon proved to the world that he still had dance skills nearly 40 years after Footloose premiered. The 65-year-old Hollywood veteran imitated the famous dance from the 1984 Oscar-nominated picture in which he appeared in a recent video that he shared.
With the message, “Strike over! @sagaftra,” the video commemorated the end of the 118-day strike by actors, following SAG-AFTRA’s November provisional deal with Hollywood studios.
The footage, which was shot in an abandoned barn, had Bacon looking happy and wearing cowboy boots while dancing to Kenny Loggins’ hit song from the movie.

Yes. Oh, my. Presenter Julianne Hough of Dancing With The Stars exclaimed, “Yessssssssss,” to which actor Ethan Hawk responded, “This is amazing!!!!!”
A admirer exclaimed, “An entire generation was just celebrating over this video!”
The movie Footloose, which also starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Lori Singer, John Lithgow, and Dianne Wiest, is set to commemorate its 40th anniversary in February. Bacon recognized the significance of the picture for its influence on several generations and enthusiasts.
“For forty years. That is among those films. Yes, it did alter my life,” Bacon remarked. It would be untrue to state nothing else. I was working and knew I would be an actor for a long time, but I mistakenly believed I would be a character actor, which is what I do, but for a split second, this took over people’s minds, and my entire life changed.
